Terms of use

These terms cover the creator programme, the talent directory and the agency service run by Creator Factory in Mauritius. By creating an account you agree to them. The reviewed version will replace this text before launch.

1. Accounts

Accounts are created by invitation after a qualification call, or by provider signup. You are responsible for the activity on your account and for keeping your password to yourself. One person may hold several roles, for example learner and talent, on the same account.

2. The programme

The six-week programme is delivered online. Modules unlock when the previous week's proof of work has been submitted and accepted. Watching lessons alone never completes a module.

3. Talent membership

A listing in the directory is granted only after completing the programme and passing the agency assessment, or after a portfolio review for providers. Membership runs for 12 months on its own clock, separate from course access. Creator Factory may suspend a listing that breaches these terms or the community rules.

4. Collaborations and payment

Brands work with talent only through Creator Factory. Every brief, proposal, delivery and payment goes through the agency. Talent payouts are due 7 business days after a deliverable is approved. Each talent line carries a 30% agency commission, shown to the talent before they accept an offer.

5. Non-circumvention

For 12 months after a collaboration, the brand and the talent on it agree not to contract with each other directly for similar work without going through Creator Factory.

6. Content and rights

You keep the rights to the work you make during the programme. Deliverables produced for a brand under a collaboration are licensed to that brand on the terms stated in the proposal.

7. Changes

We may update these terms. Material changes are announced in the community announcements channel and by email at least 14 days before they apply.

Privacy policy

This policy explains what Creator Factory collects, why, and who can see it. The reviewed version will replace this text before launch.

What we collect

• Application details: name, email, phone, social handles, and the answers on the qualification form.
• Programme activity: submissions, check-ins, review notes and community posts.
• Portfolio and listing data: display name, bio, disciplines, availability and featured items.
• Payment records: the amount, date and status of each payment. Card details are handled by the gateway and never stored by us.

Who sees what

• Anonymous visitors see a teaser listing only: display name, discipline and three featured samples.
• Verified brands see full profiles and package prices, never your contact details.
• Other learners see what you post in the community. Brands never see the community.
• Creator Factory sees everything needed to run the programme, the directory and collaborations.

Messages

We email programme messages: live-call reminders, review notes, offers and payment receipts. Marketing emails are separate and you can opt out of them at any time.

Retention and your rights

Application data for unsuccessful applicants is deleted after 12 months. You can ask for a copy of your data, a correction, or deletion of your account by writing to us from the email on your account.

Refunds

Programme fees pay for a place, reviews and access for a fixed period. This draft sets out when a refund applies. The reviewed version will replace this text before launch.

Before Week 1 opens

If you have paid but not yet submitted any Week 1 work, you can ask for a full refund within 7 days of payment.

After you start

Once Week 1 work is submitted, fees are not refunded. Guided learners who cannot continue can ask to pause before the second instalment is due; the second instalment is not charged while the place is paused.

Talent and brand payments

Brand invoices are due as stated on the invoice. Talent payouts are made 7 business days after approval of a deliverable and are not reversed once paid.

How to ask

Write to us from the email on your account with your name and the payment date. We reply within 5 business days.

Community rules

The community exists for weekly accountability and useful feedback. These rules keep it that way. The reviewed version will replace this text before launch.

Channels

• announcements: programme news from the team.
• introductions: who you are and what you make.
• wins-and-progress: what you published this week.
• feedback: ask for feedback using the Hook, Hold, Clarity and One improvement template.
• technical-help: gear, apps and editing questions.
• live-sessions: links, replays and questions for the weekly call.

What we expect

1. Give feedback on the work, never on the person. Name one thing that works and one improvement.
2. Post your own work. Reposting someone else's video as yours ends your membership.
3. No follower or view leaderboards. Progress is measured in published work and completed modules.
4. No selling, recruiting or brand outreach inside the community. Brand work goes through the agency.
5. Keep it safe: no harassment, no sharing of private messages or contact details.

Moderation

A first breach gets a written warning. A second breach or any serious breach removes community access, and can suspend a listing.

Parental consent

Creators under 18 can join the programme with a guardian's consent. This page explains what the guardian agrees to and what stays off limits. The reviewed version will replace this text before launch.

Who this covers

Anyone under 18 on the day they apply. The application form asks for the guardian's name and contact, and we confirm consent with the guardian directly before the invite is sent.

What the guardian agrees to

• The creator taking part in the six-week programme, including the community and the weekly live call.
• The creator publishing videos on their own social accounts as part of the assignments.
• Creator Factory holding the application and programme data described in the privacy policy.

What does not happen under 18

No listing in the directory and no paid brand work until the creator turns 18 or a separate written consent for paid work is recorded with a guardian. Brands never receive a minor's contact details.

Withdrawing consent

A guardian can withdraw consent at any time by writing to us. Programme access ends at the close of the current week and the community account is removed.
